(A play for readers’ theater)
Characters: Narrator / big hare / little hare/ turtle
Turtle: Hey~ I was going to bed. Good night!
Little Hare: Wait! I feel confused. Do you think big hare love me?
Turtle: Don’t be silly! Of course! Everyone said she loves you so much.

Turtle: Hey~ I was going to bed. Good night!
Little Hare: Wait! I feel confused. Do you think big hare love me?
Turtle: Don’t be silly! Of course! Everyone said she loves you so much.
My mother said, my father said, the dog said; the frog said...everyone knows she loves you.
Little Hare: Oh really? She loves me so much. But….She didn’t know I love her!!!!
Little Hare: Oh really? She loves me so much. But….She didn’t know I love her!!!!
What can I do?
Turtle: Tell her! Come on! That’s so easy, silly girl.
Narrator: Then they found big hare.
Turtle: Tell her! Come on! That’s so easy, silly girl.
Narrator: Then they found big hare.
Little hare held on the big hare’s long long ear. She wanted to be sure that big hare was listening.
Big hare: What are you doing?
Little hare: Are you listening?
Turtle: Yes, she did.
Little hare: Guess! How much I love you!
Big hare: I don’t think I could guess that.
Turtle: Me too.
Little hare: See! This much!
Narrator: Little hare stretching out his arm as wide as she could go.
Turtle: Don’t forget you have even longer arm, big hare.
Big hare: But I love you this much!
Narrator: Hmm, that’s a lot, the little hare thought.
Turtle: Round one! Big hare wins!
Little hare: I love you as high as I can reach.
Big hare: I love you as high as I can reach.
Turtle/ Little hare: Wow! That’s quiet high
Little hare: I wish I have arms like you. I have a good idea.
Narrator: She tumbled upside down and reached up the tree trunk with feet.
Little hare: I love you all the way up to my toes!
Big hare: And I love you all the way up to your toes.
Narrator: Big hare swinging her up over her head.
Turtle: Round three! Big hare wins!
Little hare: I love you as high as I can HOP!
Narrator: Laughed little hare is bouncing up and down.
Big hare: But I love you as high as I can HOP!
Turtle: Wow! That’s good hopping! She hopped so high that her ears touched the branches above.
Little hare: I wish I could hop like that.
Little hare: I love you all the way down the lane as far as the river.
Big hare: I love you across the river and over the hills.
Turtle: That’s very far!
Narrator: Little hare was almost too sleepy to think any more.
Turtle: Look the big dark night. I think…
Little hare: I love you right up to the MOON.
Turtle: You got it!
Big hare: Oh, that’s far! That’s very very far.
Narrator: The little hare closed her eyes and big hare settled her into her bed of leaves.
Big hare: What are you doing?
Little hare: Are you listening?
Turtle: Yes, she did.
Little hare: Guess! How much I love you!
Big hare: I don’t think I could guess that.
Turtle: Me too.
Little hare: See! This much!
